Tax Deductions
A little boy wanted $100 badly and prayed for two weeks, but
nothing happened. Then he decided to write GOD a letter
requesting the $100. When the postal authorities received the
letter to GOD USA, it happened to end up in the hands of a Postal
Union employee, so he sent it to Nancy Pelosi .
Pelosi was so impressed, touched and amused that she
instructed her secretary to send the little boy a $5 bill.

Speaker Pelosi thought this would appear to be a lot of money
to a little boy.

The little boy was delighted with the $5 and sat down to write a
thank you note to GOD, which read:

Dear GOD: Thank you very much for sending me the money.
However, I noticed that for some reason you had to send it
through Washington, and as usual, those rascally politicians
deducted $95.

Time flies, we say. The fleetness of time is always a topic of discussion. Now here it is, time for the beginning of school. What a time for parents. Now they can move to another stage of playing with Ken and Barbie. Just think of all the cute little outfits that can be purchased under the guise of need for school. Where do these kids get the money to buy these grunge looking outfits? You know where. Can you just picture the joy of getting little Ken or little Barbie in a fit of tears when this smothering parent tells them about the new game. “Now “Sweetheart” Mommieeeee will miss you at school, will you miss Mommieeee? Don’t be afraid “Honey” Daddyeee will be right there to get you after school. Now Ken “Pease” try to do what the teacher tells you and if she is mean to you “Pease” tell us. Give “Mommieeeee” a kiss before we go and “Mommieeee” will drive you to school until you get unafraid. Now “Dearie” Mommie can only drive you till you get to High School. Now “Sweetie” don’t cry again, Mommie will start too and she has her make-up on. The teacher will be good to you. “Mommieeeee” will talk to her and tell her how tender you are. One primary purpose of parenthood is developing a child to survive on his/her own. Look at it, school, little league, the pool, who sets the example. Who defends bad behavior?

This is one of my favorites. From Alexander Tyler. No, he wasn’t writing about the United States. This quote is well over one hundred years old. Tyler was writing about the fall of the Athenian Republic.

HYPHENATED AMERICANISM

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all.
This is just as true of the man who puts “native” before the hyphen as of the man who puts German or Irish or English or French before the hyphen. Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul. Our allegiance must be purely to the United States. We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any other allegiance.
But if he is heartily and singly loyal to this Republic, then no matter where he was born, he is just as good an American as any one else.
The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English- Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian- Americans, or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality than with the other citizens of the American Republic.
The men who do not become Americans and nothing else are hyphenated Americans; and there ought to be no room for them in this country. The man who calls himself an American citizen and who yet shows by his actions that he is primarily the citizen of a foreign land, plays a thoroughly mischievous part in the life of our body politic. He has no place here; and the sooner he returns to the land to which he feels his real heart-allegiance, the better it will be for every good American.

60 Minute Andy’s Wisdom

Right on, Andy Rooney!

Andy Rooney said on “60 Minutes” a few weeks back:

I don’t think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except
numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are
things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the UnitedCaucasianCollege Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens…Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can
kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you
from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why there are
no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is
an opinion.

I have the right “NOT” to be tolerant of others because they are different,
weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling, it is the Law of
Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a
newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact,
if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English!

My father and grandfather didn’t die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you
threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can’t understand the word
“freeze” or “stop” in English, see the above lines.

I don’t think just because you were not born in this country, you are
qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in
wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

I don’t hate the rich I don’t pity the poor.

I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn’t stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that’s better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn’t take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a
parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when
necessary, and say “NO!”

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don’t
pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that
new lip ring heals. I don’t want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you
serve me French fries!

I am sick of “Political Correctness.” I know a lot of black people, and not
a single one of them was born in Africa ; so how can they be
“African-Americans”? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don’t go around
saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great,
great, great grandfather was from Europe . I am proud to be from America and nowhere else

And if you don’t like my point of view, tough…
